Farewell Uncle Rhys

It is with a very sorry heart we must report the loss of Rhys. Rhys will be heading back to the UK sometime soon to pursue glory. The Team at TT, CHINAssist, HUKIT and the Rugby Club will miss ‘Uncle Rhys’ affectionately referred to on occasion as the ‘Goose’. We all wish him well and hope like other Nantong Legends like Amon he will frequently return to check on the homestead! We will miss you Rhysy!

Jason Mao a student of Dynamic English Training centre and young budding artist is now displaying a number of his sketches at Tiger Tiger Bar. Jason studied art at a local college in Nantong. Jason has started doing sketches from photographs, all you need to do is give him the photos and he will create a very special sketch which makes a great gift. Joe’s Secret Sauce a Big hit at TT’s 1st BBQ

Tiger Tiger held its first BBQ of 2009 last night. Food was prepared by Joe and cooked on the BBQ by Smash and Coach Yoo. Patrons enjoyed a feast of Pork Chops, Chicken Wings and Drumsticks, Salad, Potatoe Salad, Homemade colslaw and Beef burgers washed down with a Vedett Beer all for just 50RMB. Students from Dynamic English Training Centre were also in attendence with their foreign teachers and all had a great time. Lithuania National Basketball Team Party at TT

Last night in TT was quite a spectacle. Secretly swept into Nantong for a game against the US Team at the ‘Bao Zi’ stadium and not advertised at all were the Lithuanian National Basketball team. The team stayed til late at TT and today are playing a game in Shanghai against the US Team again. The Lithuanian team are on a weeks tour to play against other international teams in stadia across China. The Smash Rats need YOU!

What a load of FOLOKs!

FOLOK is Nantong’s new sherpa-esque style delivery service in Nantong. Right now they have no english speaking operator which is a bit of a pain but if you can communicate ‘Bacon McMuffin’ in Chinese and your address and number you will be able to arrange for the 24hr delivery of Mcdonalds to your home or whichever pub your in that has stopped serving food.  Right now they delivery from the following:- McDonalds, KFC. Planned Expansion of the Hao He sees Police Station Knocked Down over night

The Police Station on Hong Qiao Lu and Chengshan Lu junction is the first victim of the expansion of the Hao He Project. The plan we are reliably informed is to extend a boat-able link to Langshan and make Nantong even more of a watery paradise. The town planners are getting creative to make Nantong city shine brighter.
